Horizon Worlds on web & mobile

Meta's goal to build a successful entry point to the metaverse depended largely on expanding the reach and social graph of its immersive social app, Horizon Worlds. This meant bringing Horizon Worlds onto devices outside its niche VR audience in a project called Worlds Everywhere, aka Horizon Cross-Screens. I was the lead Content Designer on the project from its initial inception and early prototypes, through fleshing out a vision and goals for the product, to executing a shippable, viable version. I led the end-to-end project over the course of almost 2 years.

The video below is a quick highlight reel of our work, with the final product expected to ship this year. Reach out to me directly to learn more.

My role

As lead Content Designer on Worlds Everywhere, I helped create and pitch the initial idea for Meta leadership buy-in, and then managed a team of other content designers to execute the project from end-to-end.

Over two years, I established team principles, mission and vision, created a from-scratch content style guide, helped develop and build the design system for the product, and helped design, create, and execute a plethora of brand new user experiences and flows, including but not limited to: the overall onboarding experience, contextual education modals, a website landing page for accessing Horizon Worlds from anywhere in the world, and the taxonamy, naming and description system for finding and accessing content within the experience.

Ultimately I wrote, edited and published thousands of strings across every part of the experience, across multiple platforms, and led the development of the content design systems that made this product possible.
